About Brian Dunbar
Brian Joshua Dunbar, 39, of Ravenswood, WV passed away May 6, 2023 in Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston following an extended illness. He was born October 9, 1983 in Ripley, WV the son of Richard Wayne and Geraldine (Ray) Dunbar. Brian was a graduate of Heritage Christian Academy, received his bachelor's degree from West Virginia Tech and his master's degree from Boston College. He was currently employed by the State of West Virginia Office of Technology and was over their wireless systems. He enjoyed running and drawing. Survivors in addition to his parents include his sister and her husband, Lauren and Seth McGoskey; niece, Hadleigh McGoskey; nephews, Tyler, Cole and Kian McGoskey; paternal grandfather, Cecil Dunbar; a dear friend Morgan Perrine and her son, Julian Perrine whom he considered his son. Brian was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Jessie Dunbar and maternal grandparents, George and Ethelene Ray. Funeral service, with committal service following, will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV with minister, Jeff Ranson officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be on Thursday at Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV.
