Publication: Joplin Globe Tuesday, September 20, 1927, Page 5 All guests at the [ Margaret] Stoddard - [Henry]Cowgill wedding [Sarcoxie, MO, Sep 17th] who became ill Saturday night, presumably from pressed chicken eaten at the wedding supper at 5 o'clock at the Stoddard home in Sarcoxie, were out of danger yesterday. The condition of none was considered really serious. There ,were probably one hundred persons who suffered more or less from attacks of ptomaine poisoning. Three were taken to hospitals. They are. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Crane of Carthage, who are in St. Johns' hospital here, and Mrs. Blanche Fabyan , an instructor in the Carthage high school, who is in the Carthage hospital. All were so much improved yesterday that it was said they probably will be able to return to their homes today. Certain foods served at the wedding supper are to be analyzed, but the Stoddard family is convinced that the pressed chicken caused the illness. None of the bridal party became' ill, Mrs. Stoddard said yesterday, and all members of the party have returned to their homes.
