~~~~~~~~~~ Buck Qualls Services for Buck Qualls, 87, of Tremont Drive, who died Friday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Hubert Covington will officiate. A native of Coffee County and the son of the late L.T. and Maria Uselton Qualls, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frances Nixon of Knoxville, and Mrs. Marjorie Cook of Murfreesboro; four sisters, Mrs. Lourene Butler of Kernsville, N.C., Mrs. Mae Lovell, Alma Qualls and Mrs. Marybel Maxwell, all of Murfreesboro; three brothers, Hollis Qualls of Murfreesboro, Thomas Qualls of Atlanta, and Charles Qualls of Decatur, Ala.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A member of Bellwood Baptist Church and a member of Woodmen of America, he was an employee of the Murfreesboro Fire Department, serving as its chief for 49 of his 52 years there. Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Scruggs, Ken Nixon, Mike Nixon, Howard Qualls, David Lassiter and Tony Rhodes Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Fite, Joe B. Jackson, W.H. Westbrooks, Joe Lovell, Joe Finney, Joe Maxwell and Robert Waite. Visitation with the family will be after 2 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
