About Bethane Stiles-Shaw
Bethane Lure Stiles-Shaw, age 86, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2008. She was born August 4, 1921 in Whitehouse, Ohio, to Herbert H. and Ruie (Bradford) Gothke Sr. She was a loving, giving wife, mom, and grandmother. She will be missed dearly by her family and all those who knew her. Bethane enjoyed reading, dancing, and babysitting for her grand-children. She especially enjoyed time spent at the family cottage in Houghton Lake, Michigan. She was a member of the Neapolis Church of Christ and the Whitehouse American Legion Auxilliary Post 384. Bethane was a graduate of Warners School of Cosmetology in Toledo, Ohio in 1946 and was a beautician for many years. Her husbands, Lyle R. Stiles Sr., and Perry W. Shaw preceded her in death as well as her sister, Grace Vernelle Gothke. She is survived by her loving sons, Lyle Jr. (Patricia), Jack Sr. (Gloria), Herbert (Lisa), Keith Sr. (Vicki); grandchildren, Lyle III, (Sandi), Matthew (DeEtte), Nathan (Drew), Adrienne (Ron) Winslow, Jack II, Lyndsay, Ashley, Kimberly, Keith Jr., and Austin; seven great- grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Herbert Gothke Jr. (Mary). Friends and family may call Monday, May 12, 2008, from 3-8 p.m. at Peinert Funeral Home, Whitehouse, OH. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Tom Bates officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. The family requests that any donations be made to the Neapolis Church of Christ.
