About Berta Martinez
Berta Martinez, died January 8, 2023 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born July 13, 1946 in Menard, Texas the daughter of Aurelio and Petra (Barrera) Espinoza. She married John P. Martinez in Garden City in 2002. Together they formed a loving, religious home. They were devout members of the Elim Christian Church of Garden City. She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, and faithfully attending church. She is survived by her Husband-John P. Martinez; Children-Anna McCoy, Avilda Gonzalez, Abel Hernandez, Berlinda (Korona Ratanabouapha) Guerrero, Melissa ( J. Cruz) Hernandes, Chris Hernandez, Pearl Hernandez, Nick (Chasity) Hernandez, Irene (Salvador G Torres) Hernandez, Sole (Francisco Munoz) Symes; Step Children- MaryAnn Heydinger, Tanya & Jose Carrillo, Trish & Elliot Ebert, Paul Martinez, Jerimiah & Monica Martinez, Sonsahara & Dan Klaus, John Martinez Jr. & Julie Martinez. Siblings-Margarita Espinoza Ledesma, Jesus Espinoza & Maria Louisa Espinoza; 69 Grandchildren & 59 Great Grandchildren. In addition to her Parents, she was preceded in death by her Siblings- Pancho Espinoza, Liko Espinoza, Dolores Vigil and Cathern Vigil. Visitation will be held 12:00-8:00pm Friday January 13, 2023 at Elim Christian Church, 2510 E Shulman, Garden City and Funeral Service will be held 1:00-3:00 pm Saturday January 14, 2023 also at Elim Christian Church. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Berta Martinez Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City, KS. 67846
