Barbara Yvonne Jackson May 17, 1964 - August 31, 2020 Barbara Yvonne Jackson, 56, departed this life on August 31, 2020. The Jackson family will celebrate her life on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, beginning with a visitation at 10 AM followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM at Jerusalem Baptist Church with Pastor Marc James officiating. Burial will follow at Mainland Memorial Cemetery. She is survived by her mother, Valmarine; daughter, Krystal; siblings, Valerie and Byron; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. See full obit and send condolences at www.fieldsjohnson.com Barbara Yvonne Jackson May 17, 1964 - August 31, 2020 Barbara Yvonne Jackson was born on May 17, 1964 to the union of the late Mr. Bobby Jackson and Mrs. Velmarine (Blount) Jackson in Galveston, Texas. She was a proud graduate of Ball High School - Class of '82 and also Texas A&I University where she majored In Marketing. At a young age, Barbara accepted Christ and was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. A. S. Johnson in Galveston, Texas. She received Christian mentorship from her late, Great-Aunts: Lottie Newby, Clytie Washington and Doretha Hill. Her passion for culinary arts and management was shared with many. Barbara's talents were highlighted through her careers with Luby's Cafeteria, the University of North Texas and Black-Eyed Pea where she served in various management positions. She embraced many with her caring spirit, which she expressed by assisting residents at Denton State School, citizens and community events with the Department of Human Services and Denton Home Health Services – Kind Companions. Additionally, Barbara supported her daughter, Krystal and the young ladies of the Ryan High School – Lady Raiders Volleyball team. She attended all of their games (home and out of town), tournaments and fundraising events during the course of four years. On August 31, 2020 Barbara accepted God's call to return unto Him. She is no longer in any physical pain and is free from endless dialysis treatments. Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Bobby Jackson; her brother, Rudy Pickney; her grandparents: Rev. W. J. Jackson and Emmie Jackson and Clyde and I. T. Winn and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Barbara leaves to cherish precious memories of her blessed life, her mother: Mrs. Velmarine Jackson; her daughter: Krystal Barringer; her siblings: Valerie Jackson Sennette and Byron Jackson; her nieces: Rolanda Ivy, Brandie Johnson and Malerie Green; her nephews: Russell Pickney and Christopher Bell; her aunts: Erma Boyd-Nelson and Earline Cooper; her uncles: Phillip Jackson and Len Muhammad and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
