About Ashley Qualls

Ashley Nicole Qualls was born in Blythewood, South Carolina on July 22, 1987 to Solomon Qualls and the late Beverly Yvette Addison. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church in Blythewood, South Carolina. Ashley began her education at Bethel Elementary in Blythewood as a child and graduated from Spring Valley High School in the Class of 2005. As a child, Ashley always had high self-esteem and wanted to excel. Ashley went on to Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina and earned a BA Degree in Social Work. At Lander University, Ashley was on the Dean's List, "A" Honor Roll, and she received many letters of honors. After graduating from Lander, Ashley moved to New Orleans and attended Tulane University graduating with a Master's Degree in Social Work in 2011. She joined the United States Navy, but due to health issues she was discharged. Ashley was an excellent worker and she worked very hard. While seeking work in the field of Social Work, she worked at Subway in Blythewood, SC and Columbia, SC. When she relocated back to New Orleans, she continued working at Subway. Approximately three weeks ago, Ashley began work at Odyssey House in New Orleans. Ashley enjoyed life and she had a strong love for God, family and friends. She also had a strong love for fancy high heel shoes, which were her trademark. Those left to cherish Ashley's legacy of love and precious memories are: her father, Mr. Solomon Qualls of Blythewood, SC; two sisters, Ms. Kuan Qualls of New Orleans, La, and Ms. Kia Trapp of Blythewood, SC; two brothers, Mr. Rashawn Addison of New Orleans, La and Mr. Antuan Wright of Columbia, SC; her grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Addison of Columbia, SC; eight aunts, Minister Doris (Ernest) Barber of Ridgeway, SC, LaShonda (Jeffery) Guides of Blythewood, SC, Mary O. Dixon of Columbia, SC, Rosa (Butler) Cornelius of Blythewood, SC, Sarah (Michael) Belton of Columbia, SC, Ruthie Watson of Ridgeway, SC, and Nancy Graham of Charlotte, North Carolina; eight uncles, George (Shirley) Addison, Leon Addison, Warren Addison, and Rodney Addison of Columbia, SC, Ernest (Anya) Addison of Wilmington, NC, David (Nellie) Qualls of Florida, James Qualls and Abraham Qualls of Ridgeway, SC; her best friend, Tammie Randolph; special cousins, Latreasha Bond ; god-daughter, Zaria Watson; and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends whom all loved and will miss her dearly. Ashley was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Yvette Addison, grandfather, George Addison and great-grandmother, Thelma Durham. Funeral services: Bethel Baptist Church, 275 McNulty Street, Blythewood, South Carolina. Interment: Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery
