About Arthur Ross
Singer and Songwriter. He was a singer and a songwriter for Motown. He was the brother of the legendary singer Diana Ross. In 1972 he was recruited as a songwriter for Motown. He wrote hits for acts such as Michael Jackson, The Miracles and Marvin Gaye. Among the hits were the Top 20 "I Wanna Be Where You Are" and "I Want You". His work continues to be covered, "I Want You" has been covered by the late Robert Palmer, Madonna, Michael McDonald, and even Diana Ross herself on her 2007 album I Love You. His sole rare album on Motown, Changes, was finally released on CD in August 2012. The album opens with his most covered song, "I Want You" and closes with another self-penned song "To the Baby", which he wrote for Diana, a long-delayed tribute to her first two daughters. Along with his wife, their bodies were found in a basement inside another person's dilapidated home. The two of them were reportedly bound and gagged and died of suffocation.
