About Arthur Babbitt
ARTHUR L. BABBITT BOISE— Arthur L. Babbitt, 69, Buhl, and former area resident, died Saturday in a Boise hospital of natural causes. He was born May 7, 1915, in Naff, Utah, the son of Lorenzo and Hannah Elizabeth Stokes Babbitt. He received his education in the Oakley area. He married Twila Pearson on Nov. 22, 1936, in Rupert. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1963. During most of their married life they farmed in the southern Idaho area. For the last few years he had worked for the Nevada Forest Service. He had served in the new Boise LDS Temple as officiator since its opening. He and his wife had served a mission in the Washington D.C. mission. Survivors include his widow, Buhl; six sons, Milton Babbitt, Ridge Crest, Calif., Vernal Babbitt and Randy Babbitt, Boise, Dale Babbitt, Orem, Gene Babbitt, Twin Falls, and Allen Babbitt, Pocatello; four daughters, Arla Hannah, Great Falls, Mont., Eileen Hepworth, Twin Falls, Carolyn Brown, Heyburn, and Wendy Babbitt, Twin Falls; two brothers, Charles Devere Babbitt, Tacoma, Wa., Henry Babbitt, Heyburn; three sisters, Inez Harris and Martha Doman, Burley, and Verona Richins, Paul; 48 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother, and one son. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Buhl Second Ward LDS Chapel, with Bishop Max Wade officiating. Interment will be in the Buhl Cemetery, under the direction of the Relyea Funeral Chapel, Boise. Friends may call at Relyea Chapel Wednesday from noon to 8:30 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and at the church Friday from 1 p.m. until service time.
