Arnold George Dahl

Arnold Dahl Died unexpectedly Sunday May 3rd, 2015, while at home with his son Mark Dahl and daughter-in-law Donna Dahl. "Arnie", as he was most commonly known, is also survived by his son Alan Dahl. Arnie was born in Tacoma, Washington to Arnold and Mary Dahl. Arnie worked from an early age in the jewelry store owned by his uncle, Ray Sowers. Ray inspired his interest in business which eventually led to an MBA from the University of Washington. Before graduate school, Arnie served 3 years in the US Army including 2 years in Korea. While stationed in Indiana, he met his future wife, Alice Marshall, at a dance in the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis. It was love at first sight which lasted through their 57 years of marriage. After Korea, Arnie and Alice settled in Tacoma and had two children. Alice worked at SeaFirst Bank while Arnie earned his MBA. Growing up just after the Depression, he was driven from success to success for his families benefit. He worked for Ford Motor Company 10 years and then left to manage a Ford Dealership in Bellevue. The store prospered, which allowed Arnie to become a Ford Dealer in Sumner. Arnie Dahl Ford succeeded beyond expectations providing Arnie and Alice years of wonderful retirement. Arnie's dedication to Alice was most evident during her prolonged illness. Nothing short of death separated them. Arnie loved fishing, boating, and as a long-time Seahawks fan, was thrilled to see them win the Super Bowl. His family misses him dearly. A funeral service followed by a reception will start 10a.m. Wednesday, May 13th at the Sumner United Methodist Church, 901 Wood Ave Sumner.
