About Arlene Ball
ADRIAN-Arlene W. Ball, age 96, of Adrian passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born December 16, 1926 to Lebrecht A. and Clara (Ehlert) Mitchell. On May 3, 1947, she married Darrel Ball. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1992. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Campus, the past President of the former Christian Mothers Society, had been a volunteer since 1972 in the gift shop for the Bixby Ladies Auxiliary, and was also the manager of St. Joseph Cemetery for over 40 years. She was owner/partner of D.A. Ball and Associates. She enjoyed reading, traveling and working crossword and Jigsaw puzzles. Arlene is survived by one son, Ronald J. Ball of Adrian; two daughters, Mary Sterling of Adrian and Carolyn (Ken) Bailey of Adrian; six grandchildren, Andrea (Nate) Lay, Shannon (Don Perez) Ball, Michael (Michelle) Ball, Brian Sterling, Tim Sterling, and Matthew (Erica) Bailey; and 13 great-grandchildren, Caty, Cary, Cami, and Coby Sterling, Parker Sterling, Ryan, Joshua, Dominic, and Ava Bailey, Thomas Schiappacasse, Tommy and Joey Perez, and Alexander Ball. In addition to her husband, Darrel, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Leland Mitchell; two sons, Thomas and David Ball; a granddaughter, Christie Lynn Bailey; and daughter-in-law, Dianne Ball. The Funeral Liturgy for Arlene will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Campus with Fr. Michael Newman O.S.F.S. as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
