He passed on to eternal life December 13, 1983 at the Midtown Nursing Home in Somerset. He was the son of Steven Abbott and Ema Pruitt Abbott. He professed Christ 33 years ago and lived a good christian life until his death. He is survived by his wife, Ivola Troxell Abbott, three sons, Elmer Abbott of Monticello, Luther Abbott of Evanston, Wyoming, and Jack Abbott of Richmond, Indiana, three daughters, Shirley Frazer of Richmond, Indiana, Betty Preist, of Washington, Indiana, and Delene Parmley of the Murl community in Wayne County; two brothers, Bluford and John W. Abbott, both of Monticello, four sisters, __ Elam, Odell Wells and Lona Buttler, all of Monticello and Cory Keith of West Virginia. He was preceded in death by one son, Steven Abbott; two brothers, Harrison and Abb Abbott; and one sister, Jane Coffey. He also leaves a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and many friends and loved ones to mourn his passing from this life to eternal life.
