Sunday, November 5, 2995 Register Star (Rockford, IL) Page 28 Anthony "Tony" Zacharia, 85, of Rockford died at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 1995 at Willows on Main, after a long illness. Born Nov. 8, 1909 in Cherry, the son of Gaetano and Elisa Zacharia. Lived most of his life in Rockford. Married to the former Angelina F. Gulotta on Feb. 25, 1933 in Rockford. Formerly employed by Gunite. Owned and operated Grant Park Tavern for many years. Members of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and hunter. Survivors include one sister, Jean Maragi, and sister-in-law, Alice Sartino, both of Rockford; special nieces and nephews, Margaret (Peter) Abate, Antoinette (Fay) Elliott, Frank (Doris) Gulotta, Sebastian (Nancy) Gullotta, Lisa (Gerald) Lindmark, Frank (Carol) Maragi, Brenda (Andrew) Monestero, Josephine (Robert W.) Pace, Dominic (Bertha) Sartino and Maryann Smith; also great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by wife, Angelina, and brother, Dr. A. L. Zacharia. Services at noon Monday, Nov. 6 in St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Luke, pastor, officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 11 a.m. to time of services Monday in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Alzheimer Association, Rockford Chapter, for research at Swedish American Hospital. Arrangements by Gasparini & Oliveri Funeral Home, 707 Marchesano Drive.
