Obituary - 3 Jun 1991 Medford Mail Tribune - Medford, Jackson, Oregon, USA Anna Quackenbush A grave side service for Anna Lucille Quackenbush will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mountain View Cemetery in Ashland, The Rev. B. J. Holland of Ashland will officiate. Mrs. Quackenbush, 87, of Phoenix, died Saturday, (June 1, 1991). She was born Nov. 12 1903, in Crescent, Okla. In 1906, she with her family, moved to Doris, Calif. On Sept. 25, 1920, in Yreka, Calif., she married Guy R. Quackenbush, who died in 1974. They lived in Klamath Falls, Talent, and Central Point until 1951 when they moved to North Highlands, Calif. They returned to the Rogue Valley in 1971. She was a homemaker and active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Federated Women, American Legion Forty et Eight, and Loaves and Fishes. Her hobbies include cards, sewing and crocheting. Survivors include a daughter, Twyla Hamilton, Phoenix, a son, Archie Quackenbush, Redmond; three sisters, Elizabeth Petersteiner, Medford, Leota Bonnardi and Bertie Busch, both of Sacramento, Calif., four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Quackenbush in 1974; a son, Robert Quackenbush in 1928 and two sisters, Gladys Atkinson and Mamie Moffitt. She was born Nov 12, 1903, in Crescent, Okla., to Creed Burton Fail and Lucy Edith Sanderson Fail. In 1906, they moved to Doris, Calif. As a young girl, she often traveled with her family by wagon over the Topsy Grade to the Rogue Valley for fruits and vegetables. On Sept. 25, 1920, in Yreka, Calif., she married Guy R. Quackenbush, who preceded her in death in 1974. They lived in Klamath Falls, Talent, and Central Point before moving to North Highlands, Calif., in 1951. They returned to the Rogue Valley in 1971.
