Anna Adele Cameron

Obituary Santa Maria Times, May 9, 2018 On Sunday, April 29, 2018, our beloved Mom Anne Cameron left us for heaven at the age of 96. She was born on December 2, 1921 in Santa Maria, California to the late Henry and Rosa Goedinghaus, German immigrants who migrated to California and made Santa Maria their home in 1905. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, her loving spouse Clifford, her brother Carl and five sisters: Frieda, Pauline, Claire, Rosa, Frances and Josephine. She is survived by her son John, daughter-in-law Joanne, Granddaughters Melanie and Marlena, Great Grandson Joseph Jionni, and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne attended local schools and graduated from Santa Maria High School in 1938 and then worked at Sister's Hospital for over 15 years. On November 27, 1947 she married the love of her life Clifford Cameron and together they raised their only child John. Anne was kind, soft spoken, caring and God-loving. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, Grandmother and "Auntie" who went out of her way to please and support her family. For Anne, family was first. She sacrificed much to bring happiness to others and was always willing to give a helping hand. She never had a harsh word to say about anyone, never judgmental, just a very kind gentle person who loved us all for who we were. Anne tended to her family and most especially her loving granddaughters Melanie and Marlena, like she tended to her garden, with patience, kindness and pride, planting the seeds of her family that she watched over and showered with unrelenting love. She had many years of memorable travels with her husband Cliff, exploring Europe, the Holy Land, the British Isles, Russia, Australia and New Zealand. They also traveled to many states in the U.S. to reunite with many family members throughout the years. We are all very sad that she is gone, but we know she lived a very long and happy life, and are comforted knowing that she is in a better place reunited with family members in Heaven. She will always be with us and her lasting legacy as the best "caretaker" in the world! Rest in peace Mom, Grandma Anne and "Auntie", we love you. We would like to thank all of our family for their love and support and most especially the endless love from Melanie, Marlena and Joseph and the special times and visits with her niece Patty, whom she called her "own", and her nephew Jimmy who loved pets as much as Anne did! A rosary for Anne will take place on Thursday, May 17th at 6:00p.m. at the Dudley Hoffman Mortuary. Mass will be held on May 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Louis de Montfort Church in Santa Maria.
