Amos Artis Jackson

Amos Artis "Pancake" Jackson was born on August 10, 1947 in Thomasville, Ga to the late Angeline Jackson Scott and Joseph Brown. Raised by stepfather the late Selton Scott. He then later moved to Fort Myers, FL where he graduated from the last segregated class of Dunbar High School in 1966. Amos re- dedicated his life to Christ as an adult, and believed in The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. He made a life career as a tractor-trailer driver with Yellow Freight (RoadWay) in which he retired in 2019. He has inspired two of his children Ronald (FedEx) and Kerri (Estes) to also drive tractor trailers. He had a true love for fishing and traveling from state to state to see family, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His smile and calm spirit would illuminate a room. Amos is proceeded in death by his mother Angeline Jackson Scott and Father Joseph Brown. Stepfather Selton Scott, brothers Joseph Jerome Branch, Ernest Steele, granddaughter Ericka Nicole Gill, and Debra Ponds (former wife). Amos is survived by his loving children, Pamela Taylor-Edwards (Marcus), Artis Jackson (Kerry), Ronald Jackson (Shannon), Deborah Clay-Bimbow (Earnest), Kerri Jackson Scott (Life Partner Charles), Cassandra Martin (Louis); bonus daughters, Tracey George (Walter), Tiffany Jackson (Twan), and Tammy Sagoe; bonus son, Bobby (Tina) Miller; sisters, Jacqueline Davis (Joe), Pricilla Mingo (Richard), Geraldine White (John); brothers, Terri Steele, Jonathan Branch (Jay), and Jabaar Branch; aunts, Louvenia Smalls, Vera Thomas, Annette Mansfield and Uncle John Jackson Jr.; grandchildren, Payton, Marquita (Leo), Rachel (Larecca), Amber, Devonta, Brandi, Zaya, Jayden, Shalandra, Jaloni, Roger II, Adelia, Justin, Jaelen, Jourdan, Sharnea, Jalynn, Elyjah, Omarion Jackson, Gabrielle Jackson, Devonte Jackson Jr, Karter Jackson, and Eli Lilly; great grandchildren, Jasmin, Jaliyah, Aniah, Kenai, Caiden, Jayce, Sevyn, Amaris, Isabella, Jayden, Greyson; special niece and nephew, Theresa Jackson and Walter (Nette) Jackson and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
