About Alice Pitmon
ELOISE PITMON Eloise Pitmon, 89, of Bostwick passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Baptist Medical Center Clay in Fleming Island following a brief illness. Eloise was born at home in Bostwick, where she lived for her entire life. She was educated in Putnam County Schools, including the historic Bostwick Elementary School. In 1996 she retired from the Georgia Pacific Corp. in Palatka after 42 years of service. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Palatka, the pulp and papermakers union, and the VFW Post 3349 Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and taking care of her yard. She was a "matter of fact" woman who said what she meant and meant what she said. Preceding her in death were her parents, Boshie and Lola Mae Wilkinson; a son, Johnny Sweat; a brother, Dennis Wilkinson; and a grandson, Jason Sweat. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Martin Wilkinson of Bostwick; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sharon Sweat of Bostwick; a sister, Florrie Hoeltzel of Palatka; two grandsons, Chad Wilkinson and Brad Wilkinson; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. www.themastersfuneralhome.com.
