About Alice Haas
Mrs. Alice Frances (Deem) Haas, 66, Died Thursday, August 31 2000, at Presbyterian Hospital, Matthews. Fran was born to the late Earl Samuel and Naomi Deem on November 3, 1933 in West Virginia. Fran was employed by and was a dedicated auxiliary member of the VFW post 2423 of Indian Trail for sixteen years. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 4pm at the home, 2716 Community Park in Stallings. Burial will take place in Ohio next to her beloved husband, Dave who predeceased her in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael E. Ecksmith, in 1999 and sister Betty Lou Deem Ebner 1999. Survivors include a son Dave Ecksmith of Charlotte, NC; Three brothers, Bill and Earl Deem of Canton, OH., Bob Deem of New Mexico; two sisters, Norretta Everette of Canton, OH. And Margaret King of Moundsville, WV. She is also is the loving grandmother of three grandsons, David Eric Ecksmith of Monroe, Ryan Robert Ecksmith of Charlotte, NC. And Michael Ecksmith of Canton, OH and one granddaughter, Jennifer Rae Gale of Indian Trail; and four great grand children. Memorials in Fran's memory may be made to the Indian Trail VFW Post 2423 Ladies Auxiliary, PO Box 535, Indian Trail, NC 28079. Arrangements are in care of Heritage Funeral Home of Indian Trail.
