JOYCE FRENZEL VALPARAISO, IN Joyce Frenzel, age 92, of Valparaiso, IN, formerly of Gary (Miller), IN, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010. She is survived by three daughters; Marcia (Richard) Burdan of Lowell, IN, Suzanne (Larry) Kaelin of Cedar Park, TX, and Linda Frenzel of Akron, OH. In addition, Joyce is survived by five grandchildren: Kristin (Glenn) Arndt and Brian Burdan of Indianapolis, IN, Lisa (Chad) Schnur and David (Kelly) Kaelin of Austin, TX, and James Kotyk of Akron, OH; and three great grandchildren: Marian and Evan Kaelin and Taryn Schnur, all of Austin, TX. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; and two grandsons: Jason Kaelin and Richard Kotyk. Private services were held at Burdan Funeral Home, Cedar Lake, IN on Sunday, August 29, 2010. Joyce was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and baking from scratch. She also loved sewing many of her own clothes and keeping up with local and national politics. Joyce was a sixth cousin to Abraham Lincoln and was very proud of her lineage. Joyce will be greatly missed by her loving family.
