Wayne Sidney Bryant Obituary and Memorial

Sidney Wayne Bryant, 88, a resident of Waco passed away July 5, 2024. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Wade Funeral Home Chapel in Hubbard with Rev. Ricky Woodall officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard.
Wayne was born January 4, 1936 near Hubbard to Dick Bryant and Eva (Snider) Bryant. He was baptized in a stock tank behind Bowman Baptist Church at about 12 years old. Wayne went to school in Hubbard, leaving in teenage years to work and eventually following the oil field boom in the Texas and Oklahoma panhandle.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years stationed in Germany, where he was first cook for his company. On his way home from overseas, he was called on to help cook for 2700 troops on the ship. 
After the service, Wayne returned to Perryton where he became a rancher and farmer and invented a plow for farming to help control water. 
Wayne lived in Perryton for 54 years. While visiting his sister and family in Waco, he visited with a longtime friend, Patsy Hance and after a long-distance friendship for over five years, they married in 2005. They moved to Hubbard in 2007 and due to health problems, moved to Waco in 2012.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Billy Bryant and Jerry Bryant; a sister, Jo Helen Burnham; and Glenda (Waggoner) Bryant, his children's mother.
 
Wayne is survived by his wife, Patsy Hance Bryant of Waco; two daughters, Deborah Johnson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Trish Teague and husband, David of Perryton; a son, Larry Bryant and wife, Jana of Mineral Wells; step-daughter, Andrea Knapp and husband, Mike of Waco; step-son, Barry Hance and wife, Chantay of Cleburne; six grandchildren, Austin Johnson of Edmond, Oklahoma, Ryan Johnson and wife, Halston of Perryton, Stewart Johnson and wife, Lexi of Perryton, Blake Halliburton and wife, Clairbell of Booker, and Brayden and Brandon Bryant of Farmington, New Mexico; seven great-grandchildren; one nephew; three nieces, one of which is Becky Davis, who was like a daughter to him. Pallbearers will be his six grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Lindsey, Frank Phillips, Craig Thrash and Billy Muesse.
